First and Second Grade
Early Impressions is committed to providing the highest quality education to its students. In an effort to continue with our tradition of excellence, we have extended our program to include both the First and Second grades. We will provide your child with individualized instruction in a warm and nurturing environment.
We have chosen the MAGMA curriculum for these grades because we feel the quality of this program reflects our high standards and expectations levels. The MAGMA program has expectations for students in the four major curriculum areas of reading/language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. There are also enrichment opportunities integrated into the curriculum in the areas of technology and the fine arts. Early Impressions also offers additional enrichment opportunities in the areas of creative movement, physical education, Orff music, Spanish and Chinese.
The principles of the Early Impressions MAGMA program are:
- To develop a strong foundation of core knowledge
- To increase comprehension and fluency
- To support independence and inquiry
- To motivate responsible citizens
- To expand social and global consciousness
- To encourage effective work habits
- To provide individualized instruction
Included in this curriculum are leveled content objectives that are aligned with state and national guidelines and standards.
Early Impressions is dedicated to meeting these excellent educational goals for your First and/or Second grade child. Working together, we can ensure his/her success and continue down the path to life-long learning.
Early Impressions is non-denominational and non-discriminatory. Early Impressions admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin, grants them equal rights and privileges, and offers them the opportunity to participate in all available programs and activities. Children enjoy traditional celebrations of religious, ethnic and national holidays.
